Guardianships

Sloan and Feller primarily works with families seeking Article 81 and Article 17A Guardianships.  The goal of Guardianships is to appoint a decision maker for an individual who is unable to make financial and healthcare decisions.

In Article 81 Guardianships, Advance Directives often have not prepared and the Court has to approve a proper person to become Guardian for a recently disabled or incompetent adult.

For Article 17A Guardianships an individual who has been disabled from birth or as a young minor will have their parents become Guardians to look after their needs into adulthood .
